Why did we choose beans?

We like beans because they tend to be better for our planet as a protein source compared to meat. The process of harvesting beans emits less greenhouse gases compared to harvesting meat. Not only are beans healthier for the earth, but they are also healthier for our hearts. Beans and legumes offer a good source of protein, minerals and fiber.

Why Rancho Gordo Beans?

Rancho Gordo is a small company that produces around 25 different types of heirloom beans. They have farms located in California, Oregon, Idaho and New Mexico. Their beans are fresh and usually less than a year old, making them taste much better than canned, store bought beans.
